Executive Summary

This report helps strategy leaders, chief marketing officers and business development directors at operational risk management (ORM) software vendors to understand the strength of their brand preference and awareness. The brand assessment study was conducted in May and June 2018 through telephone interviews with 221 directors and managers in operations, maintenance and production roles. The respondents work at firms in 12 industries with 109 in North America, 71 in Europe and 41 in other developed economies. Four operational risk management vendors — SAI Global, Enablon, GE Digital and Sphera Solutions — achieve brand preference with a quarter of operations decision-makers. Revenue size is not the sole determinant of brand preference but it is the primary driver for brand awareness. The survey finds that only 13 of the 24 ORM vendors have brand recognition with 50% of potential buyers. GE Digital, Sphera Solutions, SAI Global, Enablon and Aveva top the brand awareness list.
