Executive Summary

This report is one in a series of case studies that explore the adoption of asset management technologies at prominent industrial firms. SPE (Société Algérienne de Production de l’Electricité) is Algeria’s national power generation organization, with an installed base of 15GW. The organization began its implementation of GE Digital’s software suite in early 2018 to address its asset performance management (APM) needs. To date, SPE has implemented GE Digital’s software applications covering operations performance, plant reliability and asset maintenance. With GE Digital, SPE has been able to reduce major incidents by up to 40%, save over $20 million in performance and operations costs and increase availability by up to 6%.
