Executive Summary

This report provides real estate and facilities management executives with an analysis of the energy management functionality provided through 15 smart building Internet of Things (IoT) platforms. The report leverages the Verdantix Green Quadrant analysis on smart building IoT platforms published in January 2022 and deepens the analysis of specific energy management functionality. This software benchmark finds that firms seeking a software platform for energy monitoring and targeting (M&T) have ample choice, with all 15 vendors in the study offering a credible platform. The analysis finds that Siemens, Schneider Electric, Spacewell and Johnson Controls offer the strongest functionality for energy management, making these vendors well-placed to support comprehensive energy management programmes. In addition, Energisme and Spacewell offer powerful analytics to deliver fast insights on energy usage and efficiency opportunities.
