Managers involved in selecting providers of contractor safety solutions include those in EHS, operations, procurement and sourcing. Verdantix finds that there are five categories of contractor safety management vendors that offer four high-level capabilities for managing contractors. There are three strategies that hiring clients can employ for managing contractor safety, these are: focusing on low-cost approaches to mitigating the most obvious risks; obliging contractors to use digital tools which improve safety performance; and integrating organizational, site-level and individual controls to create a water-tight system.
