Executive Summary
This report provides industry-level insights into corporate maintenance strategies and software investment plans drawing on the 2019 global survey of 304 corporate real estate and facilities executives. The analysis finds that there is broad interest from firms in improving facility maintenance processes, particularly clearing backlogs and using maintenance to defer capital expenditure. Across the respondents, 32% plan to invest in software for asset and maintenance management by extending an existing deployment or investing for the first time. Monitoring building assets with the IoT is gaining traction; 22% of respondents are evaluating or trialling IoT solutions for this purpose. Vendors of CAFM, CMMS and IWMS should use this report to inform product roadmaps and 2020 business planning.
