EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Building owners on the search for cost savings and operational efficiency are often hesitant to increase facility budgets – forcing facility teams to do more with less. Difficult conditions do have an upside though. They provide facility managers with the opportunity to review their strategies for ways to increase performance, such as through the integration of energy and facility management, to develop facility optimization management (FOM) strategies. This report uses analysis of data from interviews with 250 senior facilities and energy management professionals to provide further insight into the trend of FOM (see Verdantix Facilities Optimization Management Emerges As A New Vision For Optimizing Building Portfolios).
