EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report provides CFOs and global energy directors with an independent analysis of EY’s Energy Optimization Practice which was established in June 2015. To find out more about this new practice, Verdantix spoke with Richard Tarboton, Executive Director of the EY Energy Optimization Practice. The new practice is bringing in external staff, leveraging existing energy consulting capabilities across EY and also tapping into core capabilities across tax and financing. Verdantix heard this practice is developing energy optimization strategies based on energy price, volume consumed and time of use, and is targeting 20-30% in energy savings across five-year energy management plans for large energy users. Our analysis finds that EY’s offering is well suited to international firms looking to coordinate their energy management strategy at the global level, as well as large firms facing complex challenges in linking energy and business strategy.
