Executive Summary

This report helps Heads of EH&S understand the environmental strategies, governance approaches, budget allocations, spending trends, and priorities of firms in North America. We interviewed 60 EH&S leaders from firms with revenues of at least $250 million based in Canada and the US. The decentralized approach to EH&S governance in North America results in Canadian and US firms having narrower responsibilities than their European counterparts. Verdantix found that improving compliance and EH&S management top the agenda for North American firms.
