On September 9, 2014, Opower, a leading supplier of utility customer engagement solutions, announced a global strategic partnership with FirstFuel, a software supplier that provides utilities with intelligence on energy efficiency opportunities within medium and large commercial buildings. Both firms help utilities design and manage large-scale customer engagement and energy efficiency strategies. Verdantix heard that an increasing number of utilities are asking for a complete solution and that the partnership will satisfy this demand. Utilities will be able to use Opower’s engagement techniques to target residential customers, FirstFuel’s solution for medium and large commercial buildings and a hybrid approach for SMEs, depending on which solution will deliver the best results.
