EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report provides CEOs, VPs of strategy and VPs of product development with an overview of GridPoint’s new Disaster Recovery Framework, developed in parallel with a major North American retailer. Verdantix spoke with members of GridPoint’s Marketing and Data Services team and a member of the retailer’s engineering team that helped identify these new usage scenarios for GridPoint Energy Manager. Verdantix finds that five features of GridPoint’s combined hardware, software and services solution underpin its Disaster Recovery Framework. By 2020 Verdantix expects the purchase drivers in the energy management market to evolve from cost reduction to operational and financial risk management. Software suppliers with the required capabilities to provide business continuity during power outages can extend their business case beyond energy efficiency to help customers prepare for natural disasters.
