The analysis finds that expenditure in the US market by firms with more than $1 billion in revenues across six energy management initiatives – office energy management, IT/telecoms energy management, retail/chain energy management, industrial energy management, on-site renewable energy and energy management systems – will grow from $13.1 billion in 2012 to reach $16.5 billion in 2017. In 2013 the sectors with the highest levels of investment in energy management will be retail, technology, banks, oil and gas, and utilities. Compound annual growth rates for expenditure across the six energy management initiatives will vary from 4% to 8% over the five year forecast period.
